Why doesn't the app provide Bengali or English transliterations for the Quran?
To preserve the sacred meaning of Allah's words, we provide original Arabic text along with high-quality translations. Transliterations (writing Arabic in English/Bengali letters) often lead to major pronunciation errors that can change the meaning of the verses. We encourage our users to learn the beautiful art of Tajweed—a rewarding journey that every Muslim is encouraged to take.
Why is there no Adhan (Call to Prayer) notification tone?
The Adhan is a sacred symbol (Sha'air) of our faith. Using it as a phone alarm can result in it being cut off or playing in inappropriate places like restrooms or meetings, which can be unintentionally disrespectful. To honor the dignity of the Adhan, we provide beautiful, thoughtful reminder tones that alert you to prayer time with grace and respect.
What makes the "Mahfil" feed better than other video platforms?
The "Mahfil" feed is our vision for a Halal Internet Ecosystem. On standard video platforms, Islamic content is often surrounded by inappropriate ads or distracting suggestions. Mahfil provides a "Halal Alternative"—a safe space where you can watch Quran recitations and Islamic discussions without any Haraam distractions, making your screen time a form of Ibadah.
Why does the app show Isha time until Fajr (Subeh Sadiq)?
The Isha prayer time remains valid until Subeh Sadiq (Fajr) according to all major Madhabs (Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali). While it is preferable to pray before midnight, any Isha prayer offered before the start of Fajr is considered "Ada" (on time) rather than "Qaza" (missed).
